Simultaneous laparoscopic hepatic and colon resection

Simultaneous laparoscopic hepatic and colon resection

A. Costa, L. Di Cristofaro

Laparoscopic colorectal resection has been applied to advanced colorectal cancer.Synchronous liver metastasis of colorectal cancer would be treated safely and effettively by simultaneous laparoscopic colorectal and hepatic resection. This case shows a female patient 58 y.o with right colon cancer and synchronous bilateral liver metastasis treated by simultaneous pure laparoscopic resection. The mean total operation time was 270 minutes and mean blood loss was 230mL.Mean post-operative hospital stay was 10 days. For selected patients with synchronous liver metastasis of colorectal cancer, simultaneous laparoscopic resection is useful for minimizing operative invasiveness while maintaining safety and curability.
