Ivor lewis esophagectomy anastomosis with robotic stapler

Ivor lewis esophagectomy anastomosis with robotic stapler

Andrea Coratti (Florence – Italy), Michele Di Marino(Florence – Italy)
This video describes a robotic-assisted minimally invasive Ivor Lewis esophagectomy, performed for esophago-gastric junction cancer. After verifying the operability in laparoscopy, the procedure continues fully robotics in its abdominal and thoracic times.  Robotic surgery allows operators to access narrow spaces and improve the visualization of noble structures, increasing movements precision in these cramped spaces. The latero-lateral anastomosis was performed with robotic stapler according to Orringer’s tecnique and closure of the breach with resorbable monofilament suture.
