Doctor Paolo Pietro Bianchi graduated at the University of Milano in 1989 and his interest was since the beginning directed to the minimally-invasive surgery.
He developed his initial experience In Belgium at the European School of Laparoscopy and In France In Strasbourg at the IRCAD.
He was Chief of the Colorectal and Minimally-Invasive Unit In 2004 at the Istituto Clinico Humanitas in Rozzano (Italy) and In 2008 Director of the Minimally-Invasive Unit at the European Institute of Oncology In Milano.
Doctor Bianchi main interest Is digestive surgery and especially colorectal surgery, he is an expert of sentinel lymphnode detection in colon cancer anda pioneer of Laparoscopic ultrasound.
In the last years he worked to the development of robotic surgery and its application to oncological digestive diseases.
Doctor Bianchi is Professor of surgical technique at the postgraduate school of general surgery at the University of Milano, Director of the Live courses of laparoscopic surgery in colon cancer and founding member of the School of Robotic Surgery at the European Institute of Oncology In Milano.
He is author and co-author In many peer reviewed publications and reviewer for the most important journals of minimally-invasive surgery.
