Jens C. Rückert, MD, PhD

Jens C. Rückert, MD, PhD attained his medical degree at the Humboldt University Berlin.

Head of the Department of Thoracic and Endocrine Surgery as well as Vice Director of the General, Visceral and Vascular Surgery at Universitätsmedizin Berlin – Charité Campus Mitte.

His main scientific interest is Minimally Invasive Surgery, Endocrine- and Mediastinal Robotic Surgery. He contributed to the development and standardization of thoracoscopic and robotic thymectomy. He performed anatomical, functional and clinical studies concerning thymectomy. As an active member of the German Surgical Committee as well as German Thoracic Committee played an important role in the development of robotic surgery in Germany.

Furthermore, his interests include also surgery of gastrointestinal tract and transplantation.
