Dr. Pernazza obtained his medical degree from “La Sapienza” University of Rome in 1999 and completed his surgical residency in “Tor Vergata” University of Rome in 2005. He early embraced minimally invasive surgery in his surgical training. He was a fellow in Epatobiliary, Pancreatic and Digestive Surgery in Bordeaux. Subsequently he completed his fellowship in minimally invasive and robotic surgery at Misericordia Hospital in Grosseto, Italy, as part of the largest robotic program of general surgery in the world.

He was a co-worker of the surgical team directed by PC Giulianotti in Grosseto, with special interest in advanced minimally invasive surgery and robotic surgery. He took part of the experimental and didactic projects of the International School of Robotic Surgery and of the Scuola Speciale ACOI di Chirurgia Robotica in Grosseto. In 2007 he was invited to start the program of robotic surgery in Az.Osp. San Camillo-Forlanini in Rome, performing the very initial cases in robotic surgery and leading the training of the medical and nurse staff.

Dr. Pernazza is 2008-2010 member of ACOI board (Associazione Chirurghi Ospedalieri Italiani) He has published some medical publications and book chapters focused on minimally invasive and robotic surgery.
