Farid Gharagozloo
Dr. Gharagozloo is Professor of Surgery, and Surgeon-in-Chief, Center for Advanced Thoracic Surgery, Global Robotics Institute, Advent Health Celebration, University of Central Florida. Formerly he was Chief of Thoracic Surgery, Chief of Robotic Cardiothoracic Surgery, Chief of Esophageal Surgery and Chief of the Southwest Regional Thoracic Oncology Program at the University of Arizona. He received his Doctorate in Medicine from Johns Hopkins.
Dr. Gharagozloo trained in General Surgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery at the Mayo Clinic and completed a Fellowship at the Harvard Medical School. Prior to coming to the University of Arizona Dr. Gharagozloo was the Professor and Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the George Washington University Medical center in Washington DC. Dr. Gharagozloo is a diplomat of the American Board of Thoracic Surgery and Member of the Board of the Society of Robotic Surgery.
Dr. Gharagozloo has published over 200 papers and is the Senior Editor of the Textbook of Robotic Surgery.
Dr. Gharagozloo’s clinical and research interests include Robotic Thoracic Surgery, Surgery for Benign and Malignant Esophageal Disorders, and Surgery for Advanced Thoracic Malignancies.
