Dr. Park received his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University and his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.  He completed his general surgery and cardiothoracic residency training at the NewYork Presbyterian Hospital-Cornell Medical Center and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York.

He completed a surgical oncology research fellowship in the Surgery Branch of the National Cancer Institute at The National Institutes of Health.  In 2002 Dr. Park, while an attending thoracic surgeon at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, pioneered a technique for robotic-assisted video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) lobectomy for early stage lung cancer and published the largest series of successful robotic lobectomies in 2006.

He is a nationally and internationally recognized leader in robotics and other advanced minimally invasive thoracic surgical techniques for treatment of pulmonary, esophageal and mediastinal diseases.  Dr. Park’s research interests include, new applications of robotic surgical techniques, outcomes following minimally invasive resection of lung cancer, and cost implications of new technology.
